Over the past fifty years, events have taken place that have had an enormous influence on the development of Islamic-Christian dialogue, among them the change in the official position of the Catholic Church at the II Vatican Council, the creation of the World Council of Churches, and the victory of the Islamic revolution in Iran. Despite advances in this area, there are still obstacles to achieving the desired level of dialogue. In view of the fact that Iran has made the most significant contribution to the Islamic- Christian interaction from all countries of the region, a review of the history of the Islamic-Christian dialogue in modern Iran is proposed based on the problematic analysis. The authors consider the most significant moments of the Islamic-Christian dialogue in modern Iran, identify its shortcomings and bring up a number of critical comments. The work is based on the method of qualitative research and descriptive-analytical approach. The results of the study show that the Islamic-Christian dialogue in modern Iran, despite its relative achievements, faces certain criticism.
