Our peer review policy statement

All materials are subject to double-blind peer review. Members of the Editorial Board have the right of offering to authors to make changes to their articles. They can decide to reject the submitted material as well.

The practice of peer review is intended to ensure that only good science is to publish. Our referees play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of the periodical “Religion and Society in the East” , which is why all incoming manuscripts are peer reviewed following the procedure outlined below.

Initial manuscript evaluation

Our Chief Editor evaluates submitted manuscript first. In some cases it is possible (as an exception) manuscript could be accepted at this stage. Manuscripts rejected at this stage are insufficiently original, or contain plagiarisms, or have poor language stile, or are outside the research field of our periodical. Those that meet the minimum criteria are normally passed on for reviewing to at least two referees. Authors of manuscripts rejected at this stage will usually be informed within two weeks of receipt.

Model of peer review

The periodical “Religion and Society in the East” employs ‘double blind’ reviewing, in which the expert referees remain anonymous to the author(s) throughout and following the refereeing process, whilst the identity of the author(s) is likewise unknown to the reviewers. The referees are matched to the paper according to their expertise.

How referees assess

Referees are asked to evaluate the manuscript by following levels:

- originality by thought or method;

- methodological base;

- validity of results and conclusions;

- exhaustively using and correctness of references on previous relevant work;

- following of ethical guidelines, especially as concerns plagiarism;

- recency to the knowledge and development of the field;

- appropriate language and style of the manuscript.

Final report

A final decision to accept or reject the manuscript is sent to the author along with the recommendations made by the referees. The Chief Editor's decision is final. After consultation with the referees the Chief Editor makes the final decision to accept or reject the article.

Each double-blind peer reviewed article when accepted is assigned an individual DOI document ID (10.31696/2542-1530-year-issue-pages). After publication an article will be add to the DOI international database.
