Eurasian essence of the Russian civilization
Religiia i obshchestvo na Vostoke, Issue III (2019), p. 154-190.
Eurasianism as a powerful theoretical movement helps to realize the essence of our Russian civilization, which is located and has cultural roots both in the West and in the East. The article analyzes the ideas of not only prominent Russian historians and Eurasian philosophers, but also their like-minded people of other nationalities who held the positions of Eur- asianism. The theoretical basis of the original Eurasian concept of Russian history was the doctrine of Russia-Eurasia as a cultural and civilizational community, a geopolitical whole, and in a spiritual sense - a special religious and cultural world. Much attention is paid to the historical foundations of the complex, which is the Eurasian civilization. The combination of powerful Slavic and Turanian elements into a single civilization led to the harmonious coexistence of carriers of different religions. Throughout history, the organic non-violent fusion of different tribes and peoples led to mutual cultural enrichment, the emergence of a peculiar, integral national- civilizational type. The current motley in the religious and national plans of the Eurasian world continues to demonstrate its integrity, as evidenced by the ambitious economic and political Eurasian projects implemented in the CIS space. Religion is the core element of not only the spiritual, but also the cultural component of Eurasian unity, and on the scale of Russia it is undoubtedly the most important state-forming element.
